Terms of Use
What binomio is
binomio is an app for iPhone and iPad that helps a mom, dad, or guardian support their child’s learning at home. In each session, it tells you what to do and what to say, and it keeps track of what your child has already mastered.
binomio supports what your child learns at school and at home. It doesn’t replace school, a teacher, or a health or child development professional.
Every child learns at their own pace, so binomio doesn’t promise any result.
If something about your child’s development worries you, talk to a professional.
Who offers binomio
binomio is offered by David Souvannavong, as an individual, from Mexico City. For general questions, write to hola@binomio.io.
Right now, one family is testing binomio. Before we open it to other families, we’ll add David’s address, or the name of the company that takes his place, to these terms.
Who uses binomio
binomio is for adults. That means a child’s mom, dad, or guardian, or an adult who has their permission.
The adult leads every session. Your child taps the screen only at certain moments, and always with an adult beside them. binomio isn’t made for a child to use alone.
When you accept these terms, you accept them for yourself and for the children you add.
How you accept these terms
At the step where you type your first child’s name, the app shows a line with links to these terms and to the privacy policy. By continuing, you accept both documents.
The same thing happens when you add another phone to your family.
If you don’t agree, don’t continue. You can delete the app.
A free test version
binomio is in testing, and you install it through TestFlight, Apple’s app for test versions. When you install it, you also accept Apple’s standard license for apps and the TestFlight terms.
binomio is free. There are no purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads.
Because this is a test version, it may have bugs, change from one version to the next, or stop being available. We take care that your child’s progress isn’t lost, but we can’t promise binomio will never fail.
If we decide to stop offering binomio, we’ll announce it ahead of time at binomio.io. From the day we announce it, your family can ask us for a copy of its data.
No accounts, no passwords
binomio has no accounts and no passwords. Each phone or iPad in your family has its own key, kept in that phone’s keychain. If iCloud Keychain is turned on, your family’s key is saved there too. Progress syncs between your family’s phones through binomio’s server.
Look after these phones the way you look after your house keys. Anyone holding one of them unlocked can see your family’s progress.
If a phone shouldn’t see it anymore, remove it from another phone in your family.
If every phone in your family is lost and the key isn’t in iCloud Keychain, you won’t be able to get back into your family in the app. What’s on the server is still there, and you can ask us for a copy at privacidad@binomio.io.
Our content and brand
The scripts, activities, illustrations, explorers, the binomio name, and its logo belong to us or to people who gave us permission to use them.
We give your family permission to use binomio at home, for non-commercial purposes, as long as you follow these terms.
What you record in binomio about your children belongs to your family. We use it only to make binomio work, as the privacy policy explains.
What we ask of you
- Don’t copy binomio’s content to publish it, sell it, or use it in another product.
- Don’t try to get into another family’s data or harm the server.
- Don’t take the app apart to copy it.
If someone uses binomio to harm the service or other families, we can remove that phone’s access.
What we’re responsible for
We do our best to keep binomio working well and to protect your family’s data, as the privacy policy describes. We’re responsible for binomio to the extent the law provides.
We’re not responsible for things outside our control, like problems with your phone or your internet connection, or for Apple’s services.
Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
If you stop using binomio
You can stop using binomio whenever you want. Deleting the app erases the progress saved on that phone.
What’s on the server stays there so you can come back. It stays until your family asks us to delete it, or until 24 months go by without any phone in your family connecting.
To delete a child’s profile or all of your family’s data, write to privacidad@binomio.io. The privacy policy explains how long it takes.
Your privacy
The privacy policy explains how we handle your family’s data. You accept it along with these terms. You can read it at binomio.io/en/privacy. It’s also available in Spanish at binomio.io/privacidad and in French at binomio.io/fr/confidentialite.
Changes to these terms
If something changes that matters to your family, the app will show you the new version and ask you to accept it before you continue.
If you don’t agree, you can stop using binomio and ask us to delete your family’s data.
Small changes, like fixing a word, are posted on this page with their date.
Each version has its own number and date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the federal laws of Mexico. If there’s a problem, write to us and we’ll work with you to resolve it.
If it isn’t resolved, the courts of Mexico City have jurisdiction.
None of this takes away the protection you have through Mexico’s Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO), or through the consumer protection laws and courts of the country where you live.
Language and contact
These terms are available in Spanish, French, and English. If the versions don’t match, the Spanish version applies.
